Can I get my eyes tested? – Gill Opticians are not conducting eye examinations at the moment. The Corona virus is transmitted through the moisture of eyes, nose and saliva. We feel it would be hazardous us at the moment to conduct close examinations of the eyes.
What do I do if my eyes is irritated or if i feel I have an infection? You can email the practice and our optometrist Anna Fingleton will assess your symptoms and we will get back to you over the phone and give you recommendations. For emergencies please contact the Eye and Ear hospital on 1800 81 99 90.
Will contact lenses become unavailable? At present there are slight delays on receiving contact lenses. The manufacturing process is still at high capacity but we do not know if the supply chain will be affected by the outbreak.
Where can I get my glasses repaired? Gill Opticians is still repairing glasses. Please contact the practice by leaving a message or email us on info@gillopticians.ie
Where can I get my glasses replaced? Gill Opticians has a laboratory at the back of the building where we grind and fit all lenses to frames. If your prescription is up to date we can order lenses and cut the lenses into the new frame onsite.
Which opticians are open to repair my glasses? If you break your glasses we can sometimes cut the lenses into a new frame. If it is possible, we also carry out all repairs in-house. If they can be repaired we can do it. Please contact us regarding this service.
I have broken my glasses, can they be repaired or replaced? Please contact us and we will do our very best to keep you going.

I have lost my glasses can I get a new pair? If you have a prescription we can fulfill any order of glasses varifocals/progressives, reading, distance, office glasses, driving glasses, bifocals or sunglasses. We can usually make a pair of prescription reading glasses in 24 hours.
